What is al pastor?

Al pastor is a dish popular in Central Mexico inspired by the spit-grilled shawarma of Lebanese culture. Typically pork-based, Al Pastor is marinated in a combination of dried chilies, pineapple and achiote, which gives it a vibrant reddish-orange color.

Tenayo’s Al Pastor BBQ Sauce captures the flavors and essence of traditional al pastor with roasted pineapple, achiote and guajillo peppers.

How do I use the sauces?

You can use the sauces like you would any barbecue sauce, either to grill, slow-cook, dip or drizzle. They are delicious on everything from eggs to vegetables to meats.

Is separation normal?

Yes! Because of the nature of the ingredients, you can expect some separation in the sauces. Shake well before using to ensure the best consistency and flavor.
